Every Sunday I will be uploading different affirmations that you can use to center yourself at the beginning of the week! Here's the first of them to come <3
Hey Blackgirl, It's October (Happy Libra and Scorpio season btw), and you know what that means. Summer has officially come to a close! We'll be replacing beach dates with study dates and dark summer shades for reading glasses (unless you have perfect 20/20 vision, of course (I'm jealous)). If you’re like me, I’m sure you’re very VERY excited for this season (and not just because it's my birthday month 😉) But because for many of us, fall and the new school year means new beginnings. This also means seeing a large uptick in our schedules, which can lead to you not taking the time for yourself and your mental health. Sometimes you may not even know HOW to do that. So, here are my Top 5 Fall Activities that can help restore some of your energy when you're feeling overwhelmed with the business of life. #1- Baking Some of my earliest memories are cooking and baking with my Grandma. October 11th is... Black Girl Day Off! A day deadicated to Black women and girls taking a mental health day to take care of themselves and their minds. This idea has seeped itself into the mindset of...
Sorry for uploading this a day late! I still have a word on it to share with yall though! I know many of us Blackgirls (myself included) often give too much energy to those who do not fulfill our needs, or worse, drain us of our energy. It can lead us to feeling burnt out and easily irritated in spaces that would normally bring us joy and motivation. Though we sometimes can't avoid these individuals, we CAN control how much energy we decide to give them in this life. Save some of that energy for those who bring you peace and joy in this world! Take Labor Day to relax and recenter yourself, Blackgirl. Enjoy your day off!
